PARTNERSHIPS
The Mat-Su Special Santa Program is proud to be a program of Alaska Family Services, partners with Toys for Tots, Q99.7 Ohana Media Group, and the Midnight Son Riders Association.
Alaska Family Services is the parent non-profit for the Mat-Su Special Santa Program. It was established in 1979 as a domestic violence and sexual assault shelter to provide a safe-haven for women and children.
The women’s shelter remains one of our core programs and is the only nationally accredited domestic violence/sexual assault shelter in Alaska. What began as an agency for women and children has grown into an agency for families. Today, Alaska Family Services offers a comprehensive array of services designed to help people overcome a host of challenges from substance abuse disorders to emotional disturbances to accessing healthy food and affordable quality child care.

U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots started working with the Special Santa Program in 1999. Toys for Tots has been a great partner. Toys for Tots has brought Christmas to millions of children in our country throughout the years. All of the toys collected in their boxes in the Valley come to Special Santa to be distributed. There have been many times when we are short on toys and a simple call to the Marines brings the help that we need.
Because the Marines are so busy around the rest of the state, the men and women of the Midnight Son Motorcycle Association has coordinated the locations of the boxes and collection of the toys for many years. These dedicated 'elves' have been working with us for over 10 years and work daily in December. They have been an important and well-appreciated part of the program.
